Materials
Material type determines durability, appearance, food safety compliance, and environmental impact. Each has specific benefits for different applications.
Plastic.
General purpose polypropylene.
Virgin Polypropylene (PP).
Virgin polypropylene plastic offers maximum strength, clarity (in colours), and consistency. Available in various colours for coding and identification. Complies with food contact regulations when specified. Ideal for general industrial and commercial storage applications.
Recycled Polypropylene (rPP).
Made from recycled polypropylene (up to 100% post-consumer or post-industrial recycled content). Products with ≥30% recycled content are exempt from UK Plastic Packaging Tax, offering cost savings. Comparable strength to virgin material with excellent environmental credentials. Typically available in black or grey.
Clear/Transparent Polypropylene (PP-T)
Crystal-clear transparent polypropylene allows instant visual identification of contents without opening containers. Saves time during picking, stock checks, and inventory management. Ideal for display, medical supplies, cleanroom environments, or any application where content visibility is valuable.
Food-Grade Polypropylene (PP-FG).
Certified food-grade polypropylene meets strict regulations for direct food contact. Suitable for storing food products, hygiene items, pharmaceuticals, and medical supplies. Non-toxic, resistant to bacteria growth, and easy to clean. Complies with EU Regulation 10/2011 and UK Food Contact Material regulations.
